Biochem Launches RumiPro® Adapt for Dairy Cow Stress Management

Biochem have announced the launch of RumiPro® Adapt, a high-performance dietary feed supplement specifically developed to support dairy cows during periods of increased physiological and environmental stress, including the transition period and episodes of heat stress. By addressing the underlying metabolic challenges caused by internal and external stressors, the formulation ensures animal well-being and maintains productivity under adverse conditions.

RumiPro® Adapt for managing dairy cattle stress

In modern production, cumulative stressor burdens (environmental, nutritional, and metabolic) often exceed a cow’s natural adaptive capacity. This is particularly critical during the transition period or times of heat stress, where reduced dry matter intake, combined with high metabolic activity, triggers immune activation, oxidative stress, and leaky gut syndrome, leading to significant drops in fertility, health, and milk performance.

RumiPro® Adapt offers a targeted nutritional strategy through a synergistic five-component formulation:

  • Long-lasting rumen buffer: Provides efficient, long-acting support to optimize pH and reduce the risk of acidosis.
  • Betaine: Acts as a powerful osmolyte to stabilize cell membranes and promotes the synthesis of heat shock proteins to protect against thermal damage.
  • Plant Extracts (Grape & Chili): Deliver potent antioxidant protection against cellular damage and exert anti-inflammatory effects, while having an additional effect on heat dissipation by stimulating peripheral blood circulation.
  • BetaTrace Zinc: Supports intestinal barrier integrity (tight junctions) to help prevent and counteract leaky gut syndrome.

RumiPro® Adapt underscores our commitment to an integrated feeding strategy for animal welfare and farm productivity,” said Miriam Deppe, Product Manager at Biochem. “By targeting underlying physiological challenges instead of simply reacting to clinical symptoms, we offer producers a solution that reinforces the cow’s natural resilience. This ensures that animal health and performance are sustained even during peak temperatures or the high-risk transition phase.”

The product is available as a powder in a 25 KG bag and is recommended for use in Total Mixed Rations (TMR) or as top-dressing for high-yielding cows.
