dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health‘s industry-leading environmental footprint platform, Sustell® and PoultryPlan have announced a partnership to make environmental footprinting more accessible and scalable for poultry farmers. The collaboration enables farmers to measure, manage, and reduce their environmental impact with ease, unlocking value-adding opportunities, while supporting supply chains in meeting their sustainability requirements and commitments.

This partnership meets the poultry value chain’s need for practical, scalable sustainability solutions based on primary farm data and credible, ISO-assured footprint measurement. Retailers, food companies, and processors need accurate, regularly generated environmental footprint data to meet emissions reporting requirements now embedded across global food supply chains.
Farmers can identify key emissions hotspots and improvement opportunities, such as feed optimization and resource efficiency, while demonstrating measurable progress to downstream value chain partners. All data used for environmental footprint calculations are shared only with the explicit consent of the poultry farmer, ensuring full data ownership, control, and transparency.
“Farmers are managing more data than ever, and sustainability shouldn’t add complexity to their operations,” said Theo Hoen, CEO of PoultryPlan. “Through our partnership with Sustell®, we turn operational data into actionable insights, helping farmers reduce their environmental footprint while improving profitability.”
“Providing the environmental footprint of poultry production to the downstream value chain has become a business necessity. Our partnership with PoultryPlan enables farmers to generate accurate, credible footprints at scale and at ease across their operations, satisfying their customers while providing the necessary footprint insights to unlock additional value for their businesses,” said Dr David Nickell, VP Sustainability & Business Solutions & Head of Sustell®.
